SPECD Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 27, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how DAILY DRIVE LLC, doing business as SPECD ("SPECD," "we," "us") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use https://specd.studio and related services (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
We try to collect only what we need to run the Service, and we do not sell your personal information for money.
1. Information you provide
- Account information. When you sign up with email/password, we collect your name, email address, and a securely hashed password. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile image from Google (we do not receive your Google password). We also store your account role (e.g., user, shop/garage, admin) and, if applicable, an access code you redeem.
- Vehicle and build information. Vehicles you add (year, make, model, trim, existing modifications), build sheets you create (selected/custom parts, brands, prices, cost estimates, payment and build timelines, phases, and notes).
- Uploaded content. Photos and images you upload (e.g., vehicle photos, part screenshots) and any captions, reviews, comments, or messages you submit.
- Events and community. Your event RSVPs and participation, bracket submissions, votes, competition entries, and ranking/leaderboard data.
- Communications. Messages you send to other users, shops, or brands through the Service, and messages you send us for support.
- Marketing preferences. Whether you've opted in to marketing emails or texts.
- Payment information (if/when applicable). If you make a purchase, our third-party payment processor collects and processes your payment details. We do not store full payment card numbers; we may receive limited data such as the last four digits, card brand, and transaction status.
2. Information we collect automatically
- Device and usage data. Browser type, device information, pages viewed, actions taken, referring pages, and timestamps.
- Log and security data. IP address and related metadata. We use IP address, in particular, to rate-limit sign-in and code-entry attempts and to detect and prevent abuse and fraud.
- Cookies and similar technologies. Session cookies/local storage to keep you signed in and to make the Service work, plus any technologies described in our Cookie Policy.
- Approximate location. We may infer a general location (e.g., your city) to show nearby car meets and map features. Map features are powered by a third-party maps provider (see Sub-processors).
3. How we use information
We use information to:
- create and manage your account and authenticate you;
- provide core features (build sheets, part catalog, quotes/bids, maps, events, brackets, voting, rankings, messaging, and credits);
- personalize content, such as nearby meets or relevant parts;
- communicate with you (service notices, responses, and — only if you opt in — marketing);
- process transactions and manage SPECD credits (if applicable);
- maintain safety and security, prevent fraud/abuse, and enforce our Terms and policies;
- analyze and improve the Service; and
- comply with law and legal process.
Legal bases (where applicable, e.g., for users protected by GDPR/UK GDPR): performing our contract with you, our legitimate interests (e.g., security and improving the Service), your consent (e.g., marketing), and legal obligations.
4. How we share information
We share information only as described here:
- With other users, shops, and brands, when you choose to — for example, your public profile, builds you make visible, event entries, votes/rankings, reviews, and messages you send. Content you post publicly can be seen and re-shared by others.
- With service providers / sub-processors who host, store, and help operate the Service (Section 5). They may access data only to perform services for us.
- For legal and safety reasons, when we believe it's necessary to comply with law or legal process, enforce our Terms, or protect the rights, property, or safety of SPECD, our users, or the public.
- In a business transfer, such as a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
- With your consent, for anything else.
We may share aggregated or de-identified information that cannot reasonably identify you (e.g., trends, popular parts, event stats).
We do not sell your personal information for money. Some privacy laws (e.g., in California) define "sale" or "sharing" broadly to include certain targeted-advertising activity. See Section 9 for your rights, and note our current practices in the Cookie Policy.
Mobile information. No mobile phone numbers or SMS opt-in consent are shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing to sub-processors that support our text-messaging program (e.g., our SMS delivery provider) is limited to delivering the messages you opted into.
5. Sub-processors / service providers
We use trusted third parties to run the Service. Keep this list current:
| Provider | Purpose | Data involved |
|---|---|---|
| Vercel | Application hosting and delivery | Requests, log/IP data |
| Supabase | Database, file storage, and realtime updates | Account, vehicle, build, image, and event data |
| "Sign in with Google" authentication | Name, email, profile image | |
| Mapbox | Maps for car meets and location features | Approximate location, map interactions |
| Twilio | SMS/text notifications (opt-in only) | Phone number, message content |
| Knock | Notification orchestration | Email address, notification content |
| Resend | Transactional email delivery | Email address, notification content |
| Stripe | Payments, billing, and sales-tax calculation | Payment, billing address, and transaction data |
6. Data retention
We keep information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, then for a reasonable period to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, and enforce agreements. Backups may persist for a limited time after deletion. Aggregated/de-identified data may be kept indefinitely.
7. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect information — for example, hashing passwords, encrypting data in transit, limiting access, and rate-limiting authentication attempts. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Keep your password confidential and notify us of any suspected compromise at lancefenderson@specd.studio.
8. Your choices and account controls
- Access and update most account, vehicle, and build data in the app.
- Delete your account in the app (Settings → Delete Account) or by contacting us. Deleting your account removes your account and associated data as described in Section 6, subject to backups and legal retention.
- SMS/text messages (opt-in only). We send text notifications — bid alerts, part approvals, payment updates, build status, and car meets near you — only if you opt in by checking the consent box at signup or turning on texts in Settings. Consent is not a condition of using the Service. Message frequency varies with your account activity. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message (or turn texts off in Settings) to opt out, and reply HELP for help. Mobile phone numbers and opt-in consent are never shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
- Marketing opt-out. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link; you can also reply STOP to marketing texts (if we offer them). Service/transactional messages (e.g., security notices) are not marketing and may still be sent.
- Cookies. Manage cookies via your browser and as described in the Cookie Policy.
9. Your privacy rights (state/region-specific)
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, to opt out of certain sharing/ targeted advertising, and to not be discriminated against for exercising rights.
- California residents (CCPA/CPRA): you may request to know, delete, and correct, and to opt out of "sale"/"sharing." We do not sell personal information for money.
- Other U.S. states / EU/UK residents: you may have similar rights under applicable law.
To exercise rights, contact lancefenderson@specd.studio. We will verify your request and respond as required by law. You may authorize an agent to act for you.
10. Children's privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, contact lancefenderson@specd.studio and we will delete it. Some features may require users to be older (see Terms and Event & Competition Rules).
11. International users
We operate in the United States, and information is processed and stored in the U.S. and by our sub-processors. If you access the Service from outside the U.S., you consent to processing in the U.S., which may have different data-protection laws than your country.
12. Third-party sites and services
The Service may link to or embed third-party services (e.g., sign-in providers, maps, shops' external sites). Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, not this one.
13. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy. If changes are material, we'll provide reasonable notice (e.g., updating the effective date and/or emailing you). Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Policy.
