SPECD Acceptable Use Policy
Effective date: July 27, 2026
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") describes what you may and may not do on SPECD. It applies to everyone — vehicle owners, shops/garages, brands, and event participants. Violating it may result in content removal, feature or account suspension, termination, and, where appropriate, legal action or referral to law enforcement.
1. General conduct
You agree to use the Service lawfully and respectfully, and not to:
- break any law or regulation, or help anyone else do so;
- infringe anyone's intellectual-property, privacy, publicity, or contractual rights;
- harass, threaten, defame, stalk, or bully anyone; post hateful, violent, or sexually exploitative content; or target anyone with abuse;
- impersonate any person or organization, or misrepresent your identity, affiliation, or endorsement (including pretending to be a shop, brand, or SPECD);
- upload malware, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts, systems, or data;
- probe, scan, overload, disrupt, or circumvent the security or rate limits of the Service;
- scrape, harvest, or bulk-collect data or content except as we expressly permit;
- reverse engineer, decompile, or copy the Service except as allowed by law;
- use the Service to send spam or unsolicited marketing; or
- interfere with others' use or enjoyment of the Service.
2. Content rules
You may only post content you own or have permission to use. Do not upload or post content that:
- you don't have the rights to (e.g., other people's photos, shop logos, brand images, magazine/screenshot images, videos, music);
- is illegal, fraudulent, deceptive, or misleading;
- contains someone else's private or personal information without consent (including plates/VINs/addresses used to identify or harass);
- is obscene, pornographic, or exploits minors; or
- promotes dangerous, illegal, or clearly unsafe vehicle activity (e.g., street racing on public roads, evading emissions/safety law, tampering with required safety equipment).
3. Reviews, ratings, votes, and rankings — keep them honest
Because SPECD includes shop reviews, ratings, community votes, brackets, and rankings, integrity matters. You must not:
- post fake, incentivized-but-undisclosed, or deceptive reviews or testimonials;
- review your own business, or a competitor, without clearly disclosing the relationship;
- offer, solicit, or accept anything of value for a positive review or vote without clear disclosure;
- create or use multiple/fake accounts, bots, or vote manipulation to inflate votes, rankings, ratings, or engagement;
- selectively suppress honest negative feedback about your own business; or
- misrepresent demo/seed/sample data as real user activity.
SPECD may remove reviews/votes, adjust rankings, and suspend accounts that violate these rules, and may label demonstration data as such.
4. Shops, brands, and commercial users
If you use the Service as a shop, garage, brand, or other commercial party, you additionally agree to:
- provide accurate business information, and hold any licenses, permits, and insurance required for your services;
- honor the quotes, bids, and commitments you make through the Service (your contracts with customers are your responsibility);
- disclose material connections — if a placement, ranking boost, feature, or recommendation is paid, sponsored, or provided in exchange for value, it must be clearly and conspicuously disclosed;
- not make unsupported or deceptive claims (e.g., "best," "guaranteed," specific performance results) that you cannot substantiate; and
- comply with advertising, endorsement, and consumer-protection laws.
5. Marketing, email, and SMS
- Only send commercial messages through or via the Service to people who have opted in.
- Commercial email must identify your business, use accurate subject lines, and include a working unsubscribe mechanism that you honor promptly.
- SMS/text marketing requires explicit prior opt-in and a clear opt-out (e.g., "reply STOP").
- Do not scrape addresses or numbers or send spam.
6. Reporting and enforcement
Report violations, abuse, or unsafe content to lancefenderson@specd.studio (or lancefenderson@specd.studio for copyright — see the Copyright & DMCA Policy). We may investigate, remove content, and take action against accounts at our discretion. We may cooperate with law enforcement where appropriate.
